A BILL to amend article five-a, chapter twenty-one of the code of
West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as
amended, by adding thereto a new section, designated section
twelve, relating to exempting construction performed on behalf
of county and municipal governments from prevailing wage
requirements.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That article five-a, chapter twenty-one of the code of West
Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended, be
amended by adding thereto a new section, designated section twelve,
to read as follows:
ARTICLE 5A. WAGES FOR CONSTRUCTION OF PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS.
§21-5A-12. Exemption.
The provisions of this article do not apply to construction
performed on behalf of any county or municipal governmental
authority.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to exempt construction
performed on behalf of any county or municipal governmental
authority from the prevailing wage laws.
